We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all those individuals and groups who have supported us and spoken out against the act of hate that was recently carried out against our family, business and our town. We have been so touched by the expressions of solidarity against racism that have come from people of all backgrounds and political views. Different people have conveyed their supportin different ways, both publicly and privately. We are appreciative of all expressions of support. We continue to stand behind the idea that while it is okay to disagree with others civilly regarding issues, it is not okay to intimidate or attack a person or group— verbally or physically—based on attributes such as gender, ethnic origin, religion, race, disability, political party, or sexual orientation.

As we move forward, we would like to remind everyone that we are first and foremost a small business trying to make a way for our family. Like many of you, our largest concern is for the safety of our family. We hope that all children in our area are taught to accept others and exchange ideas in a peaceful and constructive way. This will create a better future for us all. We encourage everyone to be kind and decent to one another and it is our wish that the incident be a unifier and not a divider for our community.
